Earth Day Poem

Long ago the Earth was clean,
But now that everybody's mean,
We've dug and chopped right in her soil,
It's really gonna make her spoil.
Now, we must do some things,
To make her shine like diamond rings.
We need to clean and pick up trash,
If you recycle you get more cash.

Let's start to shorten the use of cars,
Take a bus or carpool it'll get you far.
Our air is polluted and our water is too,
Can you guess who did it? That's right--it's you!

If you want to live in a nice, clean place,
Take to the moon or outer space.
but if you really like it here,
I guess that I can make it clear:
We've all got to pitch in.
Or else we're all doomed, to a trashy, hot world,
I have assumed.
So now listen up, Mother Earth needs our help,
From things like blue whales, right down to the kelp.

We must clean up oil and cans and bags,
So wash your car with beaten old rags.
Use things you usually won't use,
So take a walk instead of a cruise.
It's cleaner, better, and healthier to our lives,
Than someone who eats and eats and then drives.
We need to save her life, start now!
It's our future we're saving, so don't keep delaying,
Go outside and pick up a rag,
So Mother Earth won't have to nag.
