Particular Poems for Perfect People

Sight

1.

Blue may seem green,
purple,
or pink,
depending on your eyes.

Water may seem warm,
wet,
or terrifying,
depending on your mind.

Dreams are so big-
they're small, invisible;
they're not real,
but they exist.

Sight

2.

There are depths
where red does
not exist. Some

creatures see
no color at all.
I keep thinking

I can see the
future. I just
look in front

of me and see
the death in
comfort and

the beauty in
pain. I see
water falling

and an image
of myself
rising. I see

a piano
playing
eternally.

Sight

3.

Perfection is an image
of a blackened-gray bucket
filled to the absolute top,
rainwater in particular.

It sits there,
certain,
for no touch
will go unnoticed.

Yet the old women
takes hold
without a single drop
lost.

Eyes closed,
she walks
to the dresser
and places it on top.

The boy asks
how.
I imagined I was dead,
she answers.

She takes his hand
and they walk downstairs
leaving the bucket
immortal.
