The coat appears to have been custom made for Kate, combining elements of several other coats from the Catherine Walker collection. Worn over either a blue skirt or dress, it's in wool crepe and features velvet lapels and a flared cuff. Kate paired it with a pillbox hat by Sean Barrett. It got another wearing a year later, with nude shoes and a different hat by Lock & Co., to the Easter service at Windsor Castle. and later, in June. she wore it with yet different accessories (a Philip Treacy hat, the late Queen's pearl and diamond choker, and Princess Diana's Collinwood earrings and Birthright pearl bracelet) to Charles' 'Scottish Coronation' in Edinburgh, (right)reportedly because the blue color matched that of the Saltire, the Scottish national flag. |
