Jenny Packham Polka Dot Dress

fits Franklin Mint Kate Middleton Portrait Doll

Blue for baby George! In a moment loaded with imagery, Kate and William introduce baby Prince George of Cambridge to the world. It's a wealth of baby boy blue, William in a blue striped shirt and Kate in a custom Jenny Packham blue and white crepe de chine silk polka dot dress. (There were reports that she had also ordered the same dress in pink, in case of a baby girl.)

It was also a scene that harkened back to an another young royal mother in a polka dot flowing dress, bringing her baby home (below), when William himself was carried out of the same hospital in his mother's arms. It was widely said that this was no coincidence, and Kate's polka dot dress was intended as a subtle remembrance of Diana with William.

This recreation for the Franklin Mint vinyl Kate Middleton doll is made in two different fabrics. Regardless of material, it is fully lined in white polyester and features the cap sleeves, gathered Empire waist and belt (with belt loops) of the original. It fastens in the back with snaps. Also includes a small post-baby bump. Shoes are borrowed from the Franklin Mint Diana, the People's Princess doll.

This reproduction can be made in two fabrics. I have worked with an online fabric printer to come up with a pretty accurate (in color and dot pattern) reproduction of the print (left), in a silk/cotton blend. For affordability, it's also available in a commercial polka dot cotton (right). Please feel free to e-mail for more information.
