It was more famous, though, as the 'kiss off' outfit during their tour of India in February 1992. Despite their failing marriage, until now they had projected a good team image, but by this time it seemed as if they were both tired of putting up the pretenses. Diana was famously photographed pointedly alone at the Taj Mahal, Charles being elsewhere at business meetings. It had been suggested to him that he forego those to be with his wife at this shrine to love to allay rampant rumors about their marriage, but he refused. Diana was, according to press secretary Dickie Arbiter, furious. The Princess was due to hand out prizes at a polo match a few days later, in which Charles was playing. She initially refused but was reportedly finally persuaded to do so. It was the final straw when Charles forgot to kiss her in front of waiting media, on what happened to be Valentine's Day. Mr Arbiter said: “Realising his mistake, he hastily returned and, with an uncertain crowd looking on, moved to kiss his wife’s cheek. Incensed, the Princess swivelled her head so that the kiss landed near her ear."(Right)

It was also another staple of her wardrobe in the early 90's. In May 1990 she wore it to a day engagement in Nottingham, in June to open a Leisure Center near Newcastle, and in July to an 'away day' in Inverness, Scotland . In April 1991 she wore it on the Wales' tour of Argentina, in July on a day engagement in Wrexham, and later in September she used it on her solo tour of Pakistan.
