By this time, the Wales' 5-year marriage had broken down, and Charles by his own admission had gone back to Camilla. As always in public, both Charles and Diana were the perfect team (left), but, in contrast to the glowing bride and smiling bridegroom, observant eyes noticed that the Prince and Princess of Wales didn't speak to each other at all in Westminster Abbey. However, back at Buckingham Palace with her boys, Diana was a different person. (Right) Holding Harry for the official family portrait (incidentally, he's the only child in his mother's arms - all the other attendants and royal youngsters are seated on the floor in front) she is relaxed and laughing, and, later, as the bridal couple was late in leaving for their honeymoon, she is seen on video waiting outside for the bridal couple to leave, laughingly waving for them to hurry up. |
