Cadet Erin Fetters
If you know us, you also know that we have
many "Fake Grandkids",
and for one reason or another we're proud of all of 'em.
But here's one we're especially proud of right now!
For almost all the time we've known Erin, she's said
that someday she would be a fighter pilot.
Kids always have whacky plans for their future
but this one seemed serious, so a year or two ago I
started giving Erin my fairly extensive collection of
(mostly military) airplane books.
I was fairly smart about it, and gave them to her one
or two at a time, so she'd have time to look at each one!
A while back, Erin joined the Civil Air Patrol.
I remembered it from WW-II, but didn't realize it still existed!
Well, I guess it does, because Erin recently
graduated, and is now officially a CADET!
She is now at some sort of "Boot Camp".
Congratulations Erin!
We can't wait to hear your stories,
and to see you in your new "butch" haircut! LOL!
Above is a picture of Erin in the cockpit
of a KC-130 Tanker ... she was able to watch
as they re-fueled other aircraft!
Erin is home now, tired, but happy!
Hopefully, we can add to this page as she
tells
us more about her adventures.
What a WONDERFUL kid!
If you recognize the song in the background
you are really old,
'cause it's "The Space Cadet March", the theme song from
a kids' science fiction TV show I used to watch in the early 1950's!
